The glorious outdoors, a checked rug on the grass and a wicker basket filled to the brim with yummy afternoon treats. There is nothing like a spot of al fresco dining – lazy, hazy summer days with your nearest and dearest munching fresh cucumber sandwiches and perfectly warmed scones. In reality though, it seems limp lettuce, dried-up sandwiches and potato salad that looks like it has given up ghost are most people’s idea of a picnic lunch. But as Harvey Nichols proves, it doesn’t have to be that way. To get the most out of your summer dining experiences, here are our favourite goodies to ensure the poshest picnic in the park.
